July 31, 2009, Newsletter Issue #162: Plant a Special Garden or Tree

Tip of the Week

Plant a garden or tree in memory of a loved one. This is an especially significant tribute to someone who enjoyed the outdoors. Their legacy can live on for years in the plants and trees.

The tribute can be made even more special by placing it in a public place where everyone can enjoy it. Contact your local public parks department to inquire whether they accept donations of trees. Most parks are happy to accept donations.

Another options is to contact an organization that will plant a memorial tree for you. There are many organizations to choose from that plant trees all over the world. Choose one that would have significance to the person you are memorializing.
