August 28, 2009, Newsletter Issue #166: Memorial Donations to A Charity or Organization

Tip of the Week

Many families choose to have donations made to a charity or organization in lieu of receiving funeral flowers. Even if the family does not designate this as their wish, it is still appropriate to make a memorial donation in someone's name. Think about what that person was passionate about. If they were involved in animal rescue make a donation to a rescue organization. If they supported a particular university you can make a memorial donation to a program there. It is also appropriate to make a memorial donation to an organization that supports people stricken with the disease that they died from. A donation is a lovely way to memorialize a friend or loved one.
